“Impressive intensity”
-WAZ-

“Enver Yalcin Özdiker, born in 1981, wrote surprisingly mature, moving and colorful theater music for a chamber orchestra in his first music theater work.”
-Die Deutsche Bühne-

“The musicians from the Wuppertal Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Tobias Deutschmann plays Özdiker’s demanding music in a confident and differentiated manner and implement the dramatic emotions in a musically appropriate way.”
-Opernnetz.de-

“The composer Özdiker consciously works with simple, linear design in the singing voices, which are excellently cast right down to the supporting roles. He underlines the drama in the action with tones, tone sequences, rhythms, noises and instrument clusters, which the members of the symphony orchestra and soloists under the direction of Tobias Deutschmann execute perfectly behind translucent blinds. At the premiere there was enthusiastic applause for the contemporary chamber opera with a historical local connection.”
-Westdeutsche zeitung-

“The composer Enver Yalcin Özdiker has written a clear, very concentrated score for chamber orchestra. The music is colorful, never bright or loud, builds up a quiet tension and creates a dense atmosphere with very reduced means. Using electronic feeds, the atmosphere repeatedly approaches a sparse noisiness. The composer, born 1981 in Ankara, who studied at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen and is presenting his first opera, “Aufstand”, is a trained singer and knows how to write for the voice.”
-Deutschlandfunk Kultur-

“The exciting thing here about the citizen opera project is bringing something of a high standard to the stage together. The idea of performance only exists in the second step. Everyone is taken along by Özdiker’s music, you don’t have to come with great prior knowledge.”
